オープン戦２試合目となったソフトバンク三瀬が、完全投球で首脳陣にアピールした。７回２死一、二塁のピンチで登板したが、鉄平を内角スライダーで一ゴロ。８回もきっちり３人、最後の打者中島には外角直球で空振り三振に仕留めるなど、安定した投球内容だった。「しっかり抑えられたのはよかった。森福とかニコースキーといった（中継ぎ）左の人が抑えているので、いい刺激になってるよ」と充実した表情だった。
