ＷＢＣ、２次ラウンド進出８チームが決定
　ワールド・ベースボール・クラシック（ＷＢＣ）は１１日、１次ラウンドのＢ組（会場メキシコ市）でメキシコが１６—１でオーストラリアに大勝。これで２次ラウンドに出場する全８チームが出そろった。２次ラウンド１組は、韓国、日本、キューバ、メキシコ。同２組は初戦の組み合わせもベネズエラ—オランダ、プエルトリコ—米国で確定した。それぞれの組の上位２チームが準決勝に進む。

　有力チームが順当に勝ち上がる中、Ｄ組ではオランダが優勝候補の一角と見られたドミニカ共和国を２度も破って初の１次ラウンド突破
