This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

Rookie of the Year: P Ryu Hyun Jin (Hanwha Eagles)
19 year old Ryu simply had an outstanding year in the KBO as he went 18-6 with one save and a 2.23 ERA in 30 games. He struck out 204 batters in 201 2/3 innings.
The Dongsan High School (Inchon) grad will make 100 million won ($107,600) in 2007, up from the 20 million won ($21, 520), the maximum for a rookie, he made this season.
