The Major Leaguers tied the series up 3-3 tonight. It was some great plays by Rollings and Williams in particular that saved the Major Leaguers from a different turn out.
Without any further ado, the transcript to tonight's game.

2002/11/16 18:12:43 : westbaystars TO ALL - The first baseman dives and grabs the ball, tosses to the pitcher, and Bonds is out number two.
2002/11/16 18:13:34 : westbaystars TO ALL - Giambi, though, singles to left-center, and both runners come around to score. MLB gets off to an early lead, 2-0.

More than any particular batting or pitching effort, the thing that sticks with me most was defense this game. NPB's was awful, and MLB's was spectacular.
That's surprising. The MLB All-Stars committed 4 errors (A.J. Pierzynski; Jimmy Rollins 2; Jacque Jones) to NPB's 2 (Yasuhiro Oyamada; Norihiro Nakamura). Those plays must've been truly amazing to overshadow all those miscues.

I didn't realize there were so many. The two in the 7th (Jones and Pierzynski) did cost a pair of runs. But the sparkling plays really killed NPB's rallies. How many bases loaded chances did we have?
I thought the Williams' grab was with some runners on, but looking through the log, it doesn't appear so. Instead, it just killed NPB's hopes of starting a rally.
With the lead off runner on in the 7th, Rollins maked a great play to get the lead runner. It sure did seem like he did more. Maybe I was just remembering his plays from the other games.
OK. Looking through this game log, I rescind my vote for these two getting the MVP. But they have put on a great show in the field this Series.
