Discussion in the CPBL News forum
Whales sign OF Carlos Rivera
The Chinatrust Whales, a team in desperate need of power, have signed OF Carlos Rivera. The 30 year old batted .410 with 16 HRs and 73 RBIs in 101 games in 2007 with Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Triple-A Mexican League.

The Whales have also re-signed OF Carlos Villalobos who batted .359 with 8 HRs and 52 RBIs in 50 games after joining the team in mid-season.

In other transactions the President Lions have announced that P Pete Munro (14-7, 2.03) will not be back for 2008. He wanted to return to the United States to give the Major Leagues another shot.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
