La New Bears Sign P Victor Zambrano

The La New Bears have signed 35 year old right handed pitcher Victor Zambrano. This year he was 6-6 with a 4.56 ERA in 16 games for the Sultanes de Monterrey (AAA Mexican League). The Bears also signed his teammate, 35 year old righty Jose Silva. He was 4-3 with a 3.26 ERA in 45 games this season. Josh Miller was released after posting a 1-2 record with a 7.00 ERA in four appearances.

In other transactions the 7-Eleven President Lions have brought 38 year old right hander Nerio Rodriguez back to Taiwan. This season he was 11-5 with a 2.85 ERA in 22 games for Acereros de Monclova in Mexico. After playing in Japan in 2003 Rodriguez was with the Bears in '05 and the now-defunct Chinatrust Whales in 2008. The Leos also released Christopher Gissell (4-5, 4.48 ERA in 14 games).

The Sinon Bulls released Pedro Liriano (2-4, 4 saves, 5.28 ERA in 25 games).
