Meanwhile the Brother Elephants have brought star pitcher Tsao Chin-hui back into the fold. He has continuously denied links to organized criminals.
I have no idea what the attendance figures will be like for the CPBL in 2010. They still have some big names like Tsao, Lin Chih-sheng, Chang Tai-shan, Hsieh Chia-hsian (who was also suspected of being involved in match-fixing) and Chen Chin-feng.
However, with so many players being chopped, there's ample opportunity for up and coming youngsters. With the league adopting free agency salaries will continue to rise and that should hopefully deter players from accepting money in exchange for throwing games.
