Rockies Trading Walker and Tsao to Blue Jays for Delgado and Nakamura?
The Rockies are trading Walker and Tsao to the Blue Jays for Delgado and Nakamura according to what I heard from a friend (currently working at the Jays' head office). It makes a lot of since since Tsao gives up way too many home runs and he has to pitch at Coors.

This makes no since. Where would Delgado play in Colorado? Todd Helton is currently the starter in Colorado, and is batting .338 and Delgado is batting .227.

It's a win-win situation. Tsao would give up fewer home runs and Delgado would pad his stats just like Helton.

It might be a win-win situation, but the Rockies aren't going to trade Tsao to the Blue Jays for Delgado, where Helton is the starter. The Blue Jays aren't going to take a chance on Walker. I just don't see this trade happening regardless of how much good Tsao would do in Toronto or Delgado would hit in Colorado.

They can still remain "hard-hitting" even if they traded Walker and got Delgado. Carlos probably can't play any other position because of his size, but Helton might be able to play a little shortstop or right field.

The Rockies aren't going to trade Tsao, who is their number one prospect in Baseball America, for Delgado. This trade just isn't going to happen. It would be a mistake to do this trade. The Rockies have come out and said they will not be moving players at the trading deadline, that was from Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd.

Tsao isn't their future. He isn't going to have stats like Willis or Webb in the years to come, and we all know why. Trade their young prospects (pitchers) for some big bats and just use their offence to win games.

Tsao is a piece of their future, like it or not.

It's not going to make a difference. They still have to pitch to win. You just can't hit the cover off the ball and win. You have the win the game with some pitching. Plus Larry Walker has a no-trade clause, which Walker used last year to deny the Rockies from trading him to Arizona, so this trade has very little chance of happening.

Walker is Canadian, so I think there would be a better chance that he would waive the no-trade clause if it was for a trade to the Jays.

Walker claimed yesterday that he would like to be traded to a "contender." If the Jays get Walker and Tsao they'd have a good chance of making the playoffs and even win a World Series. They already have three decent starters and an improving David Bush. With Taso in their Rotation and Walker to their lineup they can be a serious contender for the cup.

I assure you this trade won't happen, for several reasons. Why would a bad team like the Rockies, who will either finish 4th or 5th, take on a big salary like Delgado's with no intention of re-signing him, and Helton is the franchise player. They won't move him to accomodate Delgado, and even though they have said Larry Walker is tradeable, they wouldn't involve him in this type of deal because of his value to the franchise.

I am from Toronto, so I usually look at things from the Jays' perspective. But from the Rockies' perspective, why would they trade for Delgado, who is a free agent at the end of the year? It might make sense if they were going to make a run next year, but why give up a prospect for a guy you might just lose at the end of the season anyways?
