CPBL's Lin En-yu

Discussion in the Around Asia forum
CPBL's Lin En-yu
There's a great up and coming 25 year old right hander in Lin En-yu, who's on the Makoto Cobras of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. He's 10-4 with a 1.65 ERA in 18 games. In 125 2/3 innings, he has struck out 112 batters and only walked 18.

Yes, he's one of the best pitchers in Taiwan right now. I've seen a lot of his games on TV. He's got good control and pitches up to 151 km.

Pitchers like Chang Chi-chia and Hsu Ming-chieh were signed right out of Taiwan leagues by Japanese teams. However that trend has stopped recently. Is it because there's not much talent in the CPBL? Are all the talented ones like Chen Wei-yin and Chiang Chien-ming getting signed even before they make it to the pros? There must be somebody the Japanese teams have overlooked that's in the CPBL.

He was going to consider going to Japan, but Macoto's coach asked him to stay in Taiwan.
