This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

In order to patent their lineup, the Chinatrust Whales have inked a second baseman nobody's going to mistake for Dionysus, Dionys Cesar out of Mexico. The 29 year old was hitting .300 with 12 home runs and 65 RBIs for the Monterrey Sultans. He also had a sultry 31 stolen bases in 38 attempts. In 2004, Cesar played with the Triple-A teams of the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox.
In addition, the Whales also signed 28 year old right handed pitcher Scott Sobkowiak, who was 8-7 with a 4.20 ERA in 15 games last year spent swimming and flying with the Rockford RiverHawks of the independent Frontier League.
Meanwhile, the President Lions have recruited 29 year old Jose Espinal. The right hander was 8-2 with a 3.48 ERA last year for the Single-A Winston-Salmen Warthogs of the Chicago White Sox organization. Two years prior, he was a starter.
Not to be outdone, the La New Bears have picked up 27 year old right hander Eli(o) Serrano. This year he played with the Tabasco Olmecas and the Laguna Cowboys of the Mexican League where he posted a 3-4 record with a smoking 5.27 ERA in 37 games.
