Yeah, I read that over at Japan Baseball Daily. The league was short lived like the Federal League in the United States when the NPB helped bring it to an end.

Jbroks probably meant that MLB helped bring the Federal League to an end (like NPB did to the Kokumin National League).

Former NPB player Sam Uchiya told me that players who contemplated jumping to the National League were threatened with lifetime banishment from Nippon Pro Baseball.
