Very doubtful. Kobayashi is a well known Japanese name in America due to that hot dog eating champion.

That picture is from the WBC mode in MLB 2K6. It is probably a made up player used to fit out the Japan WBC roster.
Overall, it was a horrible idea to put a WBC mode in a baseball game with fake players. I mean come on what use is there of that? At least if you're going to implement a mode, put some real effort into it.
