Your Favorite Pawapuro Version
This might seem like a strange time to bring this up. Seeing as how the two realistic-looking baseball titles are due in early April and Pawapuro MLB is due in early May.

But I'm curious.

Those of you who've played multiple versions of Pawapuro, do you prefer a particular version?

I'm asking now because I recently began playing Pawapuro 11 Chou Ketteiban again. And I think I might prefer it to 12 and 12 Ketteiban.

In 11 Chou Ketteiban, the amount of HUMAN and CPU walks seems more believable, as does the CPU's ball-strike ratio. One possible drawback is that the CPU tends to throw a lot more pitches than you do. But I'm not 100% sure about this.

In 12 and 12 Ketteiban, I think they might've tried to even up the HUMAN and CPU total pitch counts, but the way they did this was by giving the CPU unrealistc ball-strike ratios and by making walks exceptionally rare.

I learned the game on Pawapuro 11 Chou Ketteiban, but I quickly left it behind for 12 and 12 Ketteiban. And initially, I felt pretty confident that 12 and 12 Ketteiban represented significant improvements over 11. But now I'm not so sure...

12 and 12 Ketteiban certainly have more animations, and at times seem a bit smoother than 11 Chou Ketteiban. But I'm beginning to believe that 11 Chou Ketteiban works better as an ENTIRE GAME - better balance, gameplay, etc.

Maybe its just my imagination...

I've just reread an older thread in which BigManZam says that many in Japan favor Pawapuro 6 for N64 and Pawapuro 9 for PS2.

And I think I've read somewhere else on this site that Konami might have had many of its top Pawapuro people focusing on the upcoming PSP and MLB versions, while it left Pawapuro 12 and 12 Ketteiban to some of its secondary people.

And why did they drop the "Chou" from the name?

Pawasuq.com has many more MLB player passwords for 11 than they do for 12...why?

I must say that I too prefer Pawapuro 11 (as I have stated in a different post).
My main complain about Pawapuro 12 is the strikes/balls ratio , there just isn't enough balls thrown.
There is also more bouncing balls in the infield in Pawapuro 12 (where it's almost always like a liner).
I also prefer the mit cursor.

I remember the problem you had with Pawapuro 12, Bullpen45. I think I'm finally coming around to your way of thinking.

Don't you play one or more of the realistic-looking Japanese baseball games too? I'm considering buying one of the new versions in early April.

I read somewhere else in this thread that Konami's Pro Spirits 3 would probably be more readily accesible for someone who doesn't speak much Japanese. But even if Namco's is a bit tougher to learn, I'd be willing to gut it out if its a better game.

I'm really anxious to read reviews on these two upcoming games.

If anyone cares, I'm again alternating between Pawapuro 11 Chou Ketteiban and 12 Ketteiban. (I think I also tried this a few months back.) Overall, I still prefer 11 Chou Ketteiban by a significant margin. But 12 Ketteiban is no slouch. It's still fun, but it just seems to lack that little extra something.

If a guy with a BLUE smiley face plays in 11 Chou Ketteiban, he seems more likely to make errors or mental mistakes in the field. I like this. For example, a BLUE-faced, CPU-controlled Benny twice took incorrect lines to base hits into the outfield. These mental mistakes (not actual errors) turned two of my singles into doubles and allowed an extra run to score. And this happened with CPU fielding set to POWERFUL!

But here's a cool thing that happened in Pawapuro 12 Ketteiban. I had a runner on third with two outs in a close game. I was the Tigers, and it made sense to allow my pitcher to hit. I ripped a hard line drive to rightfield that fell in for a base hit. But in my excitement about my pitcher's presumed R.B.I., I forgot to hustle (with the shoulder buttons) to first base. The rightfielder fired to first and threw my pitcher out. Had I hustled, I probably would have made it and the run would have scored. I love this game.

11's CPU pitching is a lot better than 12 if u ask me.

those guys in 12 dun really know what is ball. They throw almost everything in the strike zone, so it's more of u hitting into outs rather than them pitching u out.

It's not a matter of patience sometimes. At least 11's CPU pitching is more realistic, and we do see balls more often.

I'm playing on powerful everything btw.
