New to the game
Picked up Proyakyu Spirits 2 (used) while in Japan for 2000 yen (despite the fact that I dislike baseball) though after the constant urging of my gf I caved. One can only hear "Katte kudasai" so many times... :P

So we played a few games together before I left and she crushed me! I was Seibu since it was the only team I recognized. She was Jyaiantu (whomever they are)?

After a few months of it sitting on the shelf I popped it in last night and was kinda lost. The FAQ page was helpful in the sense of figuring out how to play but since it was for spirits 3 and not spirits 2 how accurate is the guide?

I need any tips to become a better player before November since her visa paperwork will be done by then!

The FAQ is the same except of some new things in Pro Yakyuu 3 that are not in Pro Yakyuu 2 such as Middle Speed+, Block Sign, etc.

Go to the training mode to get used to batting cursor and pitch speed, pitching release, and fielding.

What team is Jyaiantu? You mean Giants, right?

I've messed around with the training mode and played a few games in the pennant mode. It seems I am apt to hit into double plays often though. I am also clueless on why my players don't dive for a ball.

I will admit for someone who dislikes baseball this game kinda grows on ya.

Oh and yea Giants I guess. She always says (and writes) Jyaiantu though.

To dive for the ball press X

to grab balls away from you press Square

to hit for power press R1 to strink the cursor and hit HRs.

to jump to catch the ball press triangle
