Help for a beginner, please!
Hi, I'm new to the PawaPuro series (and baseball games in general. My interest was sparked after I got a copy of Mario Superstar Baseball, which I've been playing a lot of.

However, I'm having a hard time with PawaPuro (I'm playing 3 - 97 Haru and '98 Basic Edition, both on the Super Famicom). I keep getting fly-outs all the time - and the runners seem pretty slow compared to the fielders. Is there some kind of "dash" button? Any way to do a weaker hit besides a bunt?

I'm not sure of the controls since the only thing I have to go by is the options menu controller diagram, which I know by experience doesn't list all the button functions. There's also some kanji I can't translate - the functions of the L and R buttons in particular are a mystery to me; I know the they can be used for infield and outfield shifts and that's about it.

Any help would me much appreciated, and special thanks to Jo McClane, the menus are much less of a mystery to me after reading your PowaMaja guide!

I've only played Pawapuro on the PS2, so I can only guess about the Super Famicom's controls.

There is a "dash" feature in the PS2/Gamecube Pawapuros. To make your baserunners run faster on the PS2, you repeatedly tap the shoulder buttons (R1, R2, L1, L2). So I would guess that repeatedly tapping the L and R buttons on the Super Famicom would increase your baserunners' speed.

And on the PS2, you switch between the larger "Contact" and smaller "Power" batting cursors by pressing R1 or R2. "Contact" batting tends to yield weaker hits. Maybe the Super Famicom's R button toggles the batting cursors...

And check out the five "Chapters" in the center of the screen here:

The English is messy because this is a Japanese site run through an automated translater, but much of it is still comprehensible. Also, this information is based on later, more advanced versions of the game.

God !
I don't know about this dash !!!

Do you think it works on GameCube version of PawaMajor ?

I love so much PawaPuro : there's always new stuff to discover !

CORRECTION/ADDENDUM:

After you click on the link above, four new links should appear. Click on the top one.

In the center of the screen, you should see three bold headings. The heading on the left should say, "Pawapro capture."

Click on the fourth and final listing beneath this "Pawapro capture" heading on the left. This fourth and final listing should say, "Pawapro fighting technique."

In the center of the screen, you should see five bold headings. The information contained in the links beneath these bold heading explains HOW TO PLAY PAWAPURO. Again, the English is messy due to the automated translation. But I've still found this site extremely useful.

Nikoshiba,

The "dash" should work on GameCube too.

Well... I have a new question...

I have some problems of "moral" with many of my key-players (when I say moral, I talk about the little heads wich could be red, purple or yellow).

Hideki Matsui has a bad purple head since his trade to my team (Chi White Sox) even if he's the starter at Left Field.

Kaz Matsui (SS), Tadahito Iguchi (2B), Jermaine Dye (RF) and Konierko (1B) have the same problem.

Is there a way to help them to get better ?

In Season Mode, I believe the "little heads" change once a week. So if a guy's feeling bad, he'll probably feel bad for at least 7 days.

Now he could feel bad even longer - Jermaine Dye had a bad PURPLE head for nearly the final month of my White Sox season.

Try assigning your guys to differenet types of training/practice. I think it's the 2nd PINK box after you pick the PINK box on the Season Main Menu.

You can read more about training/practice in parts of my PawaMajor guide that I've already posted.

**If anyone knows anything more about improving "bad PURPLE headed" players, then I too would love to hear it. This is one aspect of Pawapuro that remains sort of a mystery to me.

Well Well... I'll try this... These bad purple heads aren't a problemen for Kaz who's batting like God but Jermaine Dye is really in a slump since "he's purple"...

He was a great Power Hitter but now his AVG is fallin'...

The Series are in 3 mounths but he had to get back his true level for the final victory...
