Netsu Sta is still the king

Netsu Sta is still the king
I gave up on Pawapuro 13 Ketteiban after a couple days. It's just too much of a chore to pitch, and it just isn't as fun as it used to be. So I popped in Netsu Sta 2006 with my Dream League II and updated 2007 rosters. This is definitely THE game for the hardcore yakyu fans.

I firmly believe that Namco has a big chance to take a large portion of Konami's fanbase in 2007. All they need to do is add some more flash, better graphics, and update defensive animations. If they do that, they have one of the most perfect baseball games ever.

This is what Namco has over any Konami baseball game. First off, the attributes are VERY intricate. You don't use a technique to slap the ball the other way, because that is determined by the kind of hitter you are. They also have their special strike zone system. You can tell when certain players are strong or weak in certain areas of the strike zone with fastballs and breaking balls. Pitchers have "kire" or sharpness attribute on every single one of their pitches. This determines how effective a pitch is in getting someone out. This is the only game to go into this much detail.

Of course the #1 selling point is the edit mode. You don't need to buy two copies of the same game every year. Namco could do that. They tried to a few years ago, but probably grew a conscience.

Anyway, I'll use this thread to update on this game, speculate on whether Namco will continue with it after 20 years of baseball games, and also update on my Dream League.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
