Is Yomiuri in a Panic Mode?

Is Yomiuri in a Panic Mode?
Are the execs of the mighty Giants ready to pull a Steinbrenner with the team in last place? Are the manager and GM about to be fired? And what are they saying to the Japanese press about the situation?

This question looks like a duplicate of this one.

Not all teams have general managers in Japan, and I don't think that the Giants do. That's often the double role of the field manager. As little as Horiuchi-kantoku is liked, I don't think they plan on firing him in-season unless he starts talking bad about Yomiuri's management (which is what got Hara-zen-kantoku fired).

Nothing Yomiuri has said in the press really sticks in my head, so it's most likely been fluffy pieces of spin. I have a hard time remembering spin. Most of what I remember was Kiyohara's quest for his 500th career home run and the fits he threw when he was unable to get it. After he got it, the universe realigned and the Giants started defeating the Pacific League teams.

I don't see them pulling off a big run like the Yankees did to get to .500, but there's still a lot of time left in the season. In the meantime, I'll be looking forward to sitting back and watching what might turn out to be another gem thrown by a Hawks' hurler.
