Both Kapler and Miceli struggled and were let go.

Miceli went 0-0 with a 23.63 ERA in 4 games and was let go quickly. He went on to sign a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies later after returning from Japan. Miceli is currently with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Kapler also struggled batting, .153 with 3 HR and 6 RBI, and was released at his request. Kapler went on to sign with the Boston Red Sox after leaving Japan, and is currently a free agent.

Dan Miceli went onto say some truly idiotic things about his time in Japan, saying how the level of batting power was that of little children. Kapler on the other hand, blamed himself for his struggles such as not making the needed adjustments and that he took too many pitches. [Related Thread]
