Orix and Kintetsu Arrangement

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Orix and Kintetsu Arrangement
I get JapanTV at home here in the States. I see where the lead story is some sort of merger between Orix and Kintetsu. Since my wife speaks Japanese (and was away from the set) and I can only speak a little, can anyone fill me in on the cirumstances from this? Is the Pa-League going to be reduced to 5 teams? Or is this just a stadium issue?

Thanks in advance!

Look at the discussion in the "News" section. Yes, it seems likely that the Pacific League will be reduced to five teams, but there is also talk that the Japanese league will only consist of 11 teams in one single league.

Run a search on The Japan Times [Japan Times search results] or The Daily Yomiuri [Google search results] web sites for "Orix Kintetsu" and you should be able to get the story as it is first announced and proceeds.

Various comments are available here as well.

Gary Garland's site has almost daily developments on this story. [Link] The newest stories are at the top of the page, and the older stuff toward the bottom.
