Differences between MLB and NPB rules?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Differences between MLB and NPB rules?
Are there any major differences between the rules in the MLB as to those of the NPB? For instance, I read somewhere that the NPB uses a 30 man active roster. Was I reading incorrectly, or is that true?

Shorty,

There are no differences between MLB and NPB on the field. They use the same rulebook, and while you might read that the Japanese ball is smaller, this is not the case. It just has flatter seams, making it seem smaller by feel.

There are, as you might expect, a great deal of differences in day-to-day operation. To answer your particular question, let me refer you to this thread.
